Are you looking to have a stump removed?
TDR Tree Solutions offers tree stump removal and stump grinding as one of our many services.
After cutting down a tree, it is time to have a reliable company with the right equipment and crew to manage the tree stumps remaining in your yard. Depending on the number of tree stumps in your yard, we may be able to grind them all at the same time. We usually offer this service as part of our tree removal and can only offer stump grinding at the time of our removal service.
We do not usually offer single stump grinding unless it is part of a full tree take down.
Tree removal and stump removal are generally considered two different jobs because they involve the use of different specialized equipment. Before choosing a company to cut down your tree, make sure to ask them about stump removal as well. They will either charge extra for the additional service or, if they do not have the equipment, they will refer you to a stump grinding company.
TDR Tree Solutions has the equipment, experience and the knowledgeable crew to remove the stump or grind it down below ground.
The Stump Removal Process
Removing a tree and stump grinding are two separate processes. After the tree has been removed and cleaned up, the remaining tree trunk needs to be removed.
The process of removal and stump grinding can take up to an hour per stump. This depends on the size of the stump that is being ground down.
When we use a stump grinding machine, we will place the machine over the stump and grind it down piece by piece until it is below the ground level. Once we have it down and smoothed out, we can place dirt or sod down in its place or even plant a new tree. The remainder of the stump and its roots will naturally rot away out of sight.
Most stump removal services grind the stump so that it is below the ground surface. This is because the root system can be large and isn’t cost effective to removal. The rotting stump will eventually be completely gone from your yard.
Should You Keep The Tree Stumps Or Remove Them?
There are generally two reasons people decide to keep a stump. They either want the tree stump for decorative purposes or they do not want to spend the money to remove the stump so they prefer to let it rot away. The process of a stump rotting away can take years, sometimes decades.
For those who do not want to incur the cost of fully removing a stump, grinding is a great alternative. If you made the decision to remove a tree because it was dying or was severely damaged, you do not want an ugly tree stump diminishing the curb appeal of your home.
At TDR Tree Solutions, we can provide you with affordable stump grinding so your home can maintain its beauty.
The Difference Between Tree Stump Removal and Stump Grinding
Stump Removal
Some homeowners may want to have the tree stump completely removed. This process includes pulling the stump out including its roots. The problem with this process is that it will leave a large hole in your yard.
Stump Grinding
Stump grinding is the process of grinding down the stump so that it is below the surface of the ground. The stump will then naturally rot away.
